Knowyourride.com launched!
Long time, no post. I finally took the time and launched a little web project of my own - a rails-based VIN (Vehicle Identification Numbers) decipher for vintage US muscle cars. Just got tired of looking up codes in list scattered across the Internet. Support for makes is limited right now (Chevy only but who cares about Ford anyway?) but you should definitely still check it out.Darkly Absurd website (re-)launched!
My latest web project, the relaunch of author and musician St. James' website, has just gone live! Aside from the typical biography-type content we put up quite a lot of samples of St. James' work - novel excerpts, poems short stories, and several songs as well. I'm very excited about the site and feel like this is one of the nicest designs I've come up with so far. Have a look!Global Education Safaris website launched
Its finally done! The Global Education Safaris website went life yesterday! My main tasks were to come up with a design and then implement the website, which mainly meant turning the mockups into HTML code and customizing Radiant CMS to our needs Global Education Safaris specializes in private customized safaris to East Africa for clients interested in gaining a deeper understanding of global development issues such as education, health, environment and development themes. In a recent poll conducted by research firm Vistage, confidence levels about the future of the economy among chief executives of small and medium companies have hit an all-time low. Conversely most chief executives of large corporations remain confident despite increasing signs of an economic downturn, citing increased exports and a weak dollar as primary reasons. My final paper in Modeling & Forecasting seeks to identify whether these differences in confidence are really justified or in other words: Will large companies in fact do better over the next months than small or medium companies and – if so - due to what factors? I recently came across Merb, a new Ruby-based MVC framework like Rails. Since I'm always eager to try out new technologies and it sounded good, I took a look at their sample application called MrBlog. It has, however, been developed using an early version of Merb and not updated since. So I put a couple hours of work into it to make it run on merb 0.41 with merb_activerecord 0.4.3 and activerecord 2.0.1. If you also want to test drive Merb and are looking for sample app, you can check out "my version" of MrBlog from my SVN repository.Faculty Performance Evaluation Concept
I developed a Faculty Performance Evaluation Concept for the Faculty Evaluation Committee of the Monterey Institute of International Studies. The concept examines the Institute's strategic plan and derives objectives for Faculty from the findings. It then develops a framework for evaluating faculty's success in reaching those objectives and ties achievement to Merit Payment, a bonus payment for high-performing faculty members. This is the final paper for my MBA course "Management Control Systems". Everyone developed a Balanced Scorecard (a popular tool for measuring success in reaching strategic objectives) for a company of his/her choice - based solely on publicly available information (e.g. annual report, investor presentations). I picked Adobe Systems. Inc. Download file. The Marketing Shark website launched

After successfully launching the Personal Financial Planning workshop as pilot boot camp (see earlier post) a survey was developed to find out what workshops in particular are of interest to the local community. The survey was then implemented as a web application. Open survey.Older posts: 1 2
